In order for an applicant to complete a reference, they're required to provide information about their income and previous rental payments. This can be done in 3 ways:

  • ⚡ Connecting to their online banking, and Movem verifies regular transactions.
  • ⚡ Connecting to their online banking, and the applicant manually selects their transactions.
  • 📩 Manually upload bank statements

Let's go through each of these in turn.

___________

⚡ Connecting to their online banking, and Movem verifies regular transactions.

The applicant grants Movem read-only access to their transaction history. From this Movem uses algorithms and rulesets to detect regular income and previous rental payments.

We've developed our own data interpretation, and we use machine-learning to improve our algorithms over time.

___________

⚡ Connecting to their online banking, and the applicant manually selects their transactions.

This happens if the user has connecting to their online banking, but our algorithms have failed to detect regular income or rental payments.

We then let the applicant select their income from a list of all their transactions. It's important to note that Movem has not detected this as 'regular income', so please check the transactions carefully.

___________

📩  Manually upload bank statements

If the user is unable, or unwilling, to verify their income through our online banking service, then they're able to upload bank statements.
